FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions about NuGreen's cement technology.
How does NuGreen's cement reduce carbon emissions?
NuGreen's cement reduces carbon emissions by eliminating traditional Portland clinker, which is the primary source of CO₂ in conventional cement. Instead, it uses alternative binders like fly ash and a proprietary activation chemistry that includes a biomass-derived component.
This significantly lowers the carbon footprint — roughly 81% lower cradle-to-gate GWP than published U.S. industry-average concrete benchmarks — while delivering equal or better performance in strength and durability.
Is NuGreen cement compatible with existing construction equipment?
Yes, at the equipment level. NuGreen cement is used with standard concrete mixers, pump lines, ready-mix trucks, conventional formwork and finishing plant. Equipment compatibility is not a performance specification: admixture compatibility and pumping performance are qualified per project, and fresh-state properties are not yet published for UAE placement conditions.
Batch plants do not need additional equipment or modifications. NuGreen's dry materials are handled, stored and blended using existing silos, hoppers and batching systems. “Drop-in” describes plant and equipment only — it does not extend to admixture regimes.
Does NuGreen cement meet industry standards?
Yes. The NuGreen binder conforms to ASTM C1157 and concrete is produced in accordance with ASTM C94, with reported performance results referencing ASTM C39, C666 and C1202 (primary reports are being consolidated into the substantiation file), with fly ash feedstock meeting the requirements of ASTM C618. Third-party verified environmental documentation covers cradle-to-gate performance — raw materials, inbound transportation and production.
Can projects using NuGreen support carbon-credit or carbon-finance strategies?
Potentially. NuGreen's measurable reduction in embodied carbon — roughly 265 kg of CO₂e avoided per cubic yard versus published industry benchmark data — may support qualifying projects pursuing voluntary carbon-market or carbon-finance pathways. Eligibility depends on the applicable methodology, project baseline, registry and independent verification requirements.
